In recent decades, from its native region in South America, the Dipladenia (now classified as Mandevilla) has gained a prominent place on balconies and terraces throughout Europe. This is thanks to its abundant flowering that lasts from spring to late autumn. The trumpet-shaped flowers in various shades of red, white and pink appear copious between its rich, dark green foliage. In full sun and with warm temperatures, this climbing plant grows quickly covering palisades, trellises, obelisks and pergolas in a short time. It is very cold sensitive and must be moved into a light and frost-free room before the first frost.
